Podcasting
Podcasting gives students a fun and engaging way to report on content they have learned. Students may listen to and subscribe to existing podcasts, or they can create and share their own. The great thing about podcasting is that a person can listen to a recording wherever and whenever they wish. RSS subscription feeds allow people to automatically download recently uploaded podcast epsiodes to their computer as soon as new episodes become available.

- Podcasts can be uploaded to podcasting services and shared with a global audience.
- Students can receive feedback from a variety of sources.

- Respect Copyright - use Creative Commons licensed media (images, music, etc.) when creating podcasts.
- Be sure to cite all sources of media used in the creation of a podcast.
- List only a student's first name if positing podcasts online.
- Be sure to have students complete a media release form if posting audio and images online.
- All RCS laptops have built-in microphones - all that is required to record is a quiet space.
- Audacity is a recording program that can be assigned to students through SchoolConnect.
- For those looking to use GarageBand, Macbook kits (5 laptops per kit) can be booked for a one month period. Bookings can be made through Carrie Ann Holt.
