Kidblog is designed for K-12 teachers who want to provide each student with an individual blog. Students publish posts and participate in academic discussions within a secure classroom blogging community. Teachers maintain complete control over student blogs and user accounts.

- Consistent use of the blog
- Encourage appropriate writing and detailed feedback
- Determine a specific use for the blog (discussions, reflections, publishing work, summarizing ideas, inquiry)
- Allow for student input of pictures, videos and other media to reflect their understanding of topics
- Partner up with another class to share ideas and generate authentic audience
- Assign "blogs" for homework and use examples of responses in class to generate discussion, spark topics, delve deeper, teach concepts
- TEACH commenting skills
